Dermatopathology is the pathology service concerned with the diagnosis of skin disease. The dermatopathology team, led by Dr. Scott Binder, Senior Vice Chair of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Director of Clinical Services, Chief of Dermatopathology and Pritzker Professor of Clinical Pathology and Dermatology, evaluates inflammatory skin diseases and neoplastic skin diseases, with special expertise in diagnosing cutaneous lymphoid tumors and challenging melanocytic lesions.Other key members of the faculty include Professor Alastair Cochran, a leading expert on melanoma, and Drs. David Cassarino, Joseph Hillman, George Sarantopoulos, Chandra Smart, and Gregory van Dyke, all with broad expertise. The Dermatopathology team has published numerous papers in leading journals. Renowned also for outstanding service, our dermatopathologists are always available for second opinions, discussion of prognosis, treatment options or special needs.
